Maintenance Specialist

We’re looking for an energetic, self-starter, hardworking, hands-on type person for our team.

The Maintenance Technician contributes to the success Customer Service through the care and maintenance of the client’s mechanical systems and building structures. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of general building maintenance and repair functions to ensure the quality of the facilities for our client’s locations on Long Island and New York City.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards and in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain customer service standards. Respond to client requests and work with them to minimize/resolve problems and complaints. Follow-through to ensure issue is resolved.
  • Inspects and maintains proper functioning of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, lighting, etc.
  • Life safety, mechanical and plumbing systems at assigned locations are in working order.
  • Evaluates the condition of these systems and determines, in conjunction with management, appropriate corrective measures.
  • Performs preventive and operational maintenance to ensure a functional and safe environment within all locations.
  • Creates, implements and facilitates preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Makes cost-reduction recommendations to management that adhere to policies and procedures, for electrical, fire safety, HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Performs small scale repairs to building structures, including but not limited to doors, locks, furniture, ceilings, floors, walls repair, windows, etc.
  • Maintains records of all work completed, time spent, and materials used.
  • Completes work in neat and timely fashion, causing little to no disturbance to clients.
  • Ad Hoc projects that arise to the needs of the business

Qualifications

  • High School or Technical School Diploma, required.
  • Minimum of 3 years Maintenance Experience
  • Able to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies and equipment such as, but not limited to, hand tools, pressure washers, blowers, paint equipment, ice removal equipment, ladders, sanders and safety equipment. 
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic skills such as measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in order to do basic calculations and analysis such as estimating, determining averages and percentages, and totals.
  • Able to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
  • Must possess basic hand tools necessary for performing maintenance related duties
  • Position requires driving responsibilities (Company Vehicle provided).
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with company motor vehicle policy standards.

Pay: $55,000-$65,000
